Cornerstone Task 1/ Primer Projecto de Estudios Socials :  

This week our scholars worked together in Texas teams to imagine, plan, design, improve, and share their first ever Cornerstone Task.  The Cornerstone Tasks are projects that allow students to generate their own deep understanding of the learning targets in Social Studies.  This first task asked the students to:  Reflect on their understanding of the concept of Regions in Texas and identify other areas in the United States where regions are similar.  Students had to apply the knowledge of the patterns they draw to advise a course of action such as convince someone to move, warn of possible problems, or anticipate future changes.  Our scholars collaborated very well and we are excited to embark on our second Cornerstone Task!  

Esta semana nuestros eruditos trabajaron juntos en equipos de Texas para imaginar, planificar, diseñar, mejorar y compartir su primer proyecto de Estudios Sociales.  Los proyectos son tareas que permiten a los estudiantes que generen su propia compresión profunda de los objetivos de aprendizaje en Estudios Socials.  Esta primera tarea los estudiantes tuvieron que:  Reflexionar sobre su compresión del concepto de las regiones en Texas y identificar otras áreas en los Estados Unidos donde las regiones son similares.  Los estudiantes tenían que aplicar el conocimiento de los patrones para asesorar un curso de acción, tales como convencer a alguien para moverse, advertir sobre posibles problemas o anticiparse a los cambios futuros.  Nuestros eruditos colaboraron muy bien y estamos muy contentos de iniciar nuestro segundo proyecto de Estudios Sociales.
